School Choir Our school choir is very active. Every year we sing at the Seamus Grant weekend in Clonmany. We also sing in the Inishowen Singers' Circle weekend. We sing at all the school masses and events. This year we are singing at the Christmas Eve Mass in Clonmany Chapel. In 2017/2018 we took part in the Peace Proms.
Reading This year we have started Accelerated Reading in our school. This is a programme that allows us to monitor the children reading novels. As they read they move through levels. Each child from 1st class to 6th class reads for half an hour every day. When they finish each book they do a short online quiz on it.

Active School This school year, we are aiming to renew our Active Flag. In order to receive the flag for the second time our school must show that we are engaging and continually developing physical education within our school On this page you will find updates on how the children in Cloontagh N.S have been keeping active in school. September: Run a Mile with a Smile! In September the whole school took part in our running initiative ‘Run a Mile with a Smile.’ This took place three times a week, with each student completing a mile run every Friday. The children really enjoyed this initiative and the teachers noticed they were much more energised from their morning activity. October : Fundamental Skills In October we began to focus on our fundamental skills. The first skills we looked at were walking, running, side stepping and hopping. The children concentrated on perfecting specific aspects of each skill.
